About the Scarab: New from Microtech, the Scarab is the heavy duty double action out the front automatic you've been waiting for. It's massive size is backed by the legendary Microtech quality.Featuring a 3.5" blade made of S30V steel, the Scarab is ready for any task you throw at it, from opening boxes to self defense. Available with plain or partially serrated edges, each knife is razor sharpened, and maintains it's thickness almost all the way to the tip. Opening is easy with the machined slide switch - just push up and the knife opens automatically - pull down to retract the blade back into the handle.The handle is CNC machined from 6061 T6 Aircraft Aluminum, then black anodized for low reflectivity. Traction isn't a problem either - the Scarab features grip-tape inserts that give this knife the extra retention needed in the worst conditions. The Troodon frame is of a tapered style, narrow at the front, slightly thicker at the center, then narrowing at the rear, with spaced ribbing on the spine and belly, providing an excellent grip and feel in the hand. The front opening is angled rather than squared. A double action fire/retract out-the-front auto with a spine mounted, ramped trigger, the Troodon operates with extreme speed and smoothness. The Combat Troodon is larger than the standard Troodon. This tactical model has a red frame and all black fittings. 08/2007 production run. Serial number may differ from the picture shown.
